Portrait of illustrator Iva Dukić (Iva Dukic)

Hello!

I'm Iva Dukić, an artist and illustrator from Kastav, currently living and working in Delnice, Croatia. I studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, where I explored a wide range of visual disciplines — photography, scenography, animation, mosaic and drawing. Somewhere along the way, I discovered a deep love for children's illustration and the quiet magic of visual storytelling.

In 2015, I completed my Master's degree in Applied Arts with a thesis on the importance of picture books in children's development. That research shaped my artistic direction and strengthened my passion for creating gentle, character‑driven narratives filled with imagination, emotion and atmosphere.

My illustrations are inspired by nature, folklore, dreams and the small, magical moments of everyday life. I love creating whimsical creatures, atmospheric scenes and soft narratives that invite viewers into a world of imagination.

My Work

Over the years, I've illustrated picture books, chapter books and various narrative projects for authors and publishers around the world. Some of the works I've illustrated include Friends and Rivals by Tuula Pere (WickWick, Finland), Sarah Kitty's Rescue Adventure by Michael Schor (Orison Publishers, USA), Princess of Pumpkin Palace by Alice Blackholly (Crumps Barn Studio, UK) and Planet Nasmijani by Zoja Strenja Šolaja (Studio TiM, Croatia).

I also illustrate tarot and oracle decks. One of my most recognized projects is Enchanted Forest Felines Tarot by Jen Sankey, published by Llewellyn (USA).

When I'm not drawing, you'll most likely find me wandering through the forest with my dog and horse, my loyal companions — or serving as a full‑time butler to my cat.
